Unlicensed acupuncturist Xiao Hong Liu is avoiding jail time but will have to pay Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals’ legal fees in a court decision made earlier this week.

A judge has granted a second contempt of court order against an unlicensed acupuncturist in St. John's and issued a stern warning after she was a no-show again.

Xiao Hong Liu has been suspended from practicing acupuncture for three years. Despite that, CBC N.L. had no problem booking an appointment.
