The Virginia-Syracuse rivalry could not be closer, historically. The Cavs and Orange have split the series 18-18. Each team has scored 466 goals. The last five games have been one-goal affairs, including the last time they met — a 15-14 Virginia overtime victory in 2019. The teams meet 6 p.m. Saturday on ACC Network, the nightcap to a full day of lacrosse. It’s a game reflective of the talent in the ACC and also the state of lacrosse in 2021.  Virginia (3-0) is riding high after a full sla...

Two years after their last meeting, Ohio State started strong and never let up, cruising to an easy away victory at once mighty Homewood Field. Ohio State Buckeyes

Photo by B51/MarkABrown/Getty Images The last time the Ohio State Buckeyes men’s lacrosse team saw the field was March 10, 2020. The Buckeyes came away with a 13-11 win over then-No. 14 Notre Dame. Then-senior attack Tre Leclaire anchored the team with five goals, while fellow senior attack Jackson Reid added three of his own along with four assists. After the game, while there was no short of rumors flying around by that point, Ohio State remained poised to take on Denver before kicking off ...

Monday February 8th, 2021 8:30am We rejoice in the return to play. The healing characteristics of lacrosse — the physical and mental health benefits for the participants, coaches, families and fans.  2021 will be a week-to-week endeavor. Expect stops and starts, a bumpy road, unpredictable and imperfect. Celebrate your negative tests. Weve seen at least three programs (UMass, Johns Hopkins and Michigan) affected because of campus spreads of the virus. Set a good example. Be the great citizen...

Today Ryan Terefenko and Tre Leclaire were named preseason All-Americans. Terefenko was a first-team pick, while Leclaire received the nod as an Honorable Mention. Should Terefenko end the season as a first-team All-American, he would be only the second player to achieve that distinction, after Ben Randall, who did it twice.

(Photo: Steve Hiscock) Last week, I rolled out my way early 2021 National Lacrosse League mock draft, naming 14 players likely to go in the first round when the draft is held later this year. Now, I want to share some other notes on other players of interest for the draft.  Of the 14 players I listed in my mock, 12 reside in Ontario and two in ...

Leclaire, Terefenko and Henrick hope to bookend careers with Memorial Day appearances.
