A border business is warning customers to expect potentially significant delays at the Pigeon River international crossing on Tuesday.

Travellers crossing into Canada will be required to take a PCR test upon entry, even if it was a short trip to pick up parcels.

Only a handful of travelers were seen crossing into the United States at Pigeon River on Tuesday morning, the first day PCR tests no longer required for re-entry into Canada for trips of 72 hours or less.

For most Canadians, it's been nearly two years since they were able to easily cross the Canada-U.S. border to do a quick shopping run, or pick up some parcels.

While PCR tests won't be required as of Tuesday for short visits under 72 hours, returning travellers must still upload their vaccination information into the ArriveCan app or face a 14-day quarantine.
