Mountain View’s boys soccer team held off Strasburg to pull out a thrilling 0-0 (4-3 penalty kicks) win on Monday in the Bull Run District tourney quarterfinals.

The sports staff of The Northern Virginia Daily created power rankings for the area public school softball teams. The rankings are based on overall records, head-to-head records, strength of schedule

Many of the area softball programs are in strong shape as another season begins.
