retail leasing: International brands share in retail leasing going up
Global brands now occupy a quarter of the retail space in India, which has increased 1100 basis points from a year ago. The surge in global brands leasing was from both existing retailers and newer entrants, with existing retailers leasing 75% of the total share. During the period, fashion and apparel were the major sectors with a 38% share followed by food and beverage with an 18% share.
