The Nigeria Correctional Service has stepped up efforts to track down and recapture escaped inmates of the Suleja Medium Security Custodial Centre, Niger State

          The Nigerian government has said that it is extending search and recapture of 4000 inmates who escaped from the Suleja Medium Security Custodial Centre, Niger State, to villages, nearby towns and camps of the Internally Displaced Persons.

The Federal Government may relocate many jails from city centres because of the growing urbanisation in the country.

NCoS: 119 Inmates Escape As Heavy Rains Destroy Suleja Custodial Centre

The Federal Capital Territory Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service has reported that 119 inmates fled from the Suleja Custodial Centre in Niger State due to a rainstorm that damaged the facility.

NCoS enjoined the public to look out for the fleeing inmates and report any suspicious movement to the nearest security agency
