Macalester's women's team has posted a winning record in four out of the last five seasons and competes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference against teams like Carleton, St. Olaf, and Bethel University.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Klein Fragoso, Sandpoint Track & Field

A new councilor was sworn into office at Wednesday’s Sandpoint City Council meeting.

“Showing the world that North Idaho can compete on the national level is pretty inspiring"

Les Schwab store manager, Matt Pond, helped to coordinate the delivery of a plaque and a $100 Visa gift card for the team.

Coaches Josh Ratigan and Valerie Johansen said they could not think of two better leaders and mentors, and are proud to say the two represent Sandpoint wrestling.

The four will be inducted during the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet, which is set for Saturday, April 6, at The Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Thousands of dollars worth of local scholarships will soon be awarded to Bonner County high school seniors.

"The opportunity to go to nationals is definitely one of the greatest things that has happened in my life thus far,” Schmit said.
