SIR – We should welcome the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights, which seeks to force Switzerland to enact the climate policies of Greta Thunberg and her friends (“Tory backlash over European court’s climate ruling”, report, April 10).

SIR – The uproar in the House of Commons during the debate on a ceasefire in Gaza (report, February 22) revealed an unfortunate sense of self-importance on the part of its members.

SIR – Andrew Bailey, the Governor of the Bank of England, has said that wages are too high to hit inflation targets (report, February 2). Once again, Mr Bailey shows scant regard for cause and effect, basic economics or natural human behaviour.

SIR – It is utterly absurd to pay the French to patrol their beaches in order to prevent migrants crossing the Channel (report, March 10).

SIR – Juliet Samuel is right.

SIR – With the Harry & Meghan series on Netflix, and the publication today of the Duke of Sussex’s autobiography, Spare, it beggars belief that the Duke felt the need to give television interviews as well (report, January 9).
