China’s State Council, the country’s highest government body, this week approved the construction of six reactors at three nuclear power stations in the east of the country, World Nuclear News reports.

The largest and heaviest module - the CA20 - has been installed at unit 4 of the Haiyang nuclear power plant in China's Shandong province, the Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute has announced.

Westinghouse Electric Company has signed memorandums of understanding with Slovakia's JAVYS on the potential deployment of its AP1000 reactors and AP300 small modular reactors in the country.

A memorandum of cooperation has been signed for the Sanmen nuclear power plant in China's Zhejiang province to supply steam to the Rongsheng Taizhou New Material project. It will be the country's largest nuclear energy steam supply project.

The CA03 module has been hoisted into place at unit 3 of the Sanmen nuclear power plant in China's Zhejiang province. Meanwhile, the circular rail that will support the polar crane of unit 3 at the Xudabao plant in Liaoning province has been installed.
