Tributes have been pouring in for Harold Briley, who passed away in the small hours of 26 June 2023, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer, which he bore bravely.

A letter found after the Falklands War 40 years ago has been reunited with the Argentinian soldier who wrote it. 

The Falkland Islands Government has announced that they have signed a new agreement with BFBS Media Ltd for the continued provision of Television, Radio and MiPlayer Services for the Falkland Islands.

It was a day for looking back. On Wednesday morning, veterans gathered at Tavistock War Memorial to mark the anniversary of the end of the Falklands War, still fresh in the minds of those who served 40 years on.

With the capture of Mount Tumbledown, Wireless Ridge and Sapper Hill the Falkland Islands conflict was effectively over and at 2100 hours on the 14th June 1982 the commander of the Argentine garrison in Stanley, General Mario Menendez, surrendered to Major General Jeremy Moore.
