jodi arias of murder in the first degree for killing her ex-boyfriend travis alexander. the jurors deliberated 16 hours after a four month trial. now that same jury will be tasked with deciding whether to execute her for her crime. they will recommend. our local affiliate has just finished interview with jodi arias. it will air on frun "on the record" with greta van mark? >> yeah, shep. my colleague troy hayden sat down exclusive whether i jodi arias shortly after she was convicted this afternoon. he sat down with her for 45 minutes. i just talked to him a little bit ago. he told me she was crying when the interview started. she was surprised by the verdict. she also told him that he prays for the jurors and she hopes that this verdict will bring peace for travis alexander's family. she also said if she could do all of this over again, she would have told police the truth from the very beginning instead of

travis alexander. within the next few days, we should find out whether she will get the death penalty for her crime. trace gallagher is live in our west coast newsroom. what more is the family saying by way of reaction? >> well, the family of travis alexander now says they are not going to give any further comment, shep until after jodi arias is sentenced. the family attorney came out and said they would be filing a wrongful death lawsuit against jodi arias. in court when the verdict was read, the alexander family did let out a small cheer. they began to hug each other and sob. those in court said it was very emotional. the police chief from mesa, arizona, just outside of phoenix was also in the courtroom and here's what he said. listen. >> you know, it's satisfying and i will tell you, i sat in front of the family when the jury came back with their verdict and the absolute relief, the sighs of emotion, it almost brought a tear to my eye. >> friends of the alexander
