how extensive their satellite coverage is. how much do those tensions pull apart that coalition and hamper the investigation, do you think? you know, you hit the nail on the head. a country like india is not going to want to give up its radar screens, show the resolution, the real-time capture of images. they don t want to do it. what they ll say is we ll take a look and we ll tell what you we find. if we do, we ll give you something. that s not good enough. look at the malaysians. that plane flew right over a radar site and it took them how many days to come around and tell everybody? no wonder the chinese are furious. the chinese for so many days were searching the ocean. south of it. and it wasn t there. so we ve lost a lot of time. there is a lot of mistrust. for all we know this plane has land somewhere. i doubt it but you know, people have to get on board with this and start giving up stuff.
people say they suspect it went south rather than north would be the lack of satellite coverage. but stand by, we re going to bring you back in the next segment. i want to bring in nbc s kerry sanders with the latest on the search. what can you tell us investigat investigators are looking at now? they ve expanded the area of search. up until this point, we ll look at the map i ll bring it up on the telestrator, this is the area they ve been looking at, they followed the plane s path and they felt it looks like it went this way here so as they re following the plane s path they ve decided in their efforts to do the search that they would do a good portion of the search down in this area here in the indian ocean, also up in the bay of bengal, but as we go even further north up into the land mass of like 11 countries, all the way up at the very top, they ve now expanded the search. this is easier and harder.

the plane could be. it goes all the way from the arabian sea on one side in the west all the way on the east to the deepest parts of the world s oceans, the marianas trench where jim cameron made his dive. so we re talking about a whole different set of circumstances here. and i ve been talking to people on twitter throughout the day. so many people are saying with all the satellites up there in the sky in this day and age, where you can locate a lost iphone, how could it be this far into the search and no satellites have spotted this aircraft, particularly if it was flying for four to five hours? is there simply not that much satellite coverage over say the indian ocean? it s a horrible situation. because you ve got to believe that maybe someone knows something. given all what you just said, someone must know something that they re not talking about. because it s hard to imagine that that could happen, that a plane could fly so long. but there s still not a shred of evidence that
a hijackuation would have taken it off. sabstage what do you mean? hijacked by someone coming in the cockpit. and sabtame by the crow taking over the cockpit and not cubing the journey in which they were told to conduct. it was someone some the crew whether blackmailer seek logical problem. something along those lines. if it was sabstage. are thereuaries of the globe that are blackout regions and radar doesn t work and the plane would be invisible? yes, as it sounds with technology, there are areas in the world, long wave and long-distance radar can t cover all of the radar signatures. and we know about the satellite coverage that comes in phases. and so there are black spots around the world where the radar
