A Free State town has actually prompted its citizens to be careful after samples from the Vaal River

Ngwathe Municipality blamed sabotage and loadshedding after claims by AfriForum that water samples taken from the Vaal River in Parys on Tuesday tested positive for cholera. This comes after the Free State confirmed that Madikeldi Sebeho, 33, died after testing positive for cholera.

The Department of Water and Sanitation is investigating the sewage spilling manhole in the Vaal River. It has also issed a directive to Ngwathe Local Municipality to stop polluting the river.
