NASA said it recovered the Hubble Space Telescopes Wide Field Camera 3 instrument, marking the second instrument to come back since the telescope went into safe mode last month.

NASA has turned on an instrument that has not been powered on in over a decade to help get the Hubble Space Telescope out of safe mode, the agency said in an update.

NASA said it is still unsure what is wrong with the Hubble Space Telescope, nearly 10 days after it discovered it had stopped working for the second time this year.

The Hubble Space Telescope experienced a glitch for the second time this year, NASA said, as its science instruments went into safe mode on October 25.
