Haldimand-Norfolk REACH is holding several events in recognition of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week (May 1 to 7).

At a recent practice, the team and its coaching staff worked on bunting techniques, with each batter also working on improving their swings.

Coach Kent Wheeler said that the team has been playing pretty well, including a sweet win over Beverly-Salem.

The team, made up of players from Marblehead and Swampscott, as well as those players from private schools, played three times last week.

Head coach Annie Madden said her squad played very well in the win against the Vikings, and also in the loss to Masco.

The Marblehead High School boys’ lacrosse team (8-0 in the NEC, and 9-2 overall) had just one game last week, but it was a thriller.

On Monday, April 25, Beverly fell to the Magicians at Piper Field, 19-11. It was a close one-goal game at the half, with Marblehead leading 8-7.

On Thursday morning, April 21, Marblehead beat the visiting Falcons, 9-7. It was not the team’s best game, according to coach John Wilkens.

If anyone thought host Swampscott and Marblehead were going to lay back to get ready for their respective Super Bowl games, they were dead wrong.
