The year began with the birth of the first baby of the year. Christian Stockigt was born at 7:13 a.m. Jan. 2 at Nantucket Cottage Hospital to Teodora and Steven Stockigt. He weighed 7 pounds, 7.1 ounces and measured 20 inches.
