Wiscasset’s town office remains open with COVID-19 protocols. The select board is meeting remotely over Zoom. File photo
The Wiscasset Select Board unanimously renewed a license for the sale of consumer fireworks for Big Al’s Fireworks Outlet on Route 1 when they met via Zoom Tuesday night, Dec. 15.
The application was made by Big Al’s Outlet owner Allen Cohen, who operates the fireworks outlet next door to his store at 300 Bath Road.
“Tonight’s discussion has absolutely nothing to do with the facility on JB’s Way,” said Selectmen’s Chair Pam Dunning, referring to a separate fireworks storage facility Cohen owns. The board declined to hear comments concerning that storage facility from an attorney representing a Wiscasset couple.
