The California Highway Patrol (CHP) for the El Centro area arranged a retirement luncheon for their commander, Captain Scott Laverty and break ground for a new facility.

EL CENTRO – Capt. Scott Laverty, 49, has been appointed as the new captain of the California Highway Patrol El Centro Area, according to a CHP release.

CHP appointed 49-year-old Scott Laverty, who previously served as the commander of the CHP Winterhaven area and military veteran, having served 30 years in the military.
