Jordan West won his second consecutive SEC shot put title at the SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and this time it was for the University of Arkansas after the transfer from Tennessee finished first for the Vols last year.

Breaking the Arkansas discus record which had stood for 40-plus years and improving it by over 13 feet earned Razorback senior Rojé Stona the SEC Field Athlete of the Week honor.

Involved in a very competitive discus competition with the sun shining and warmer temperatures on the final day of the Mt. SAC Relays, Razorbacks Rojé Stona and Ralford Mullings each broke the Arkansas school record in the discus.

Razorback thrower Ralford Mullings won the Stanford Invitational discus with a winning mark of 200 feet, 5 inches (61.09) on Friday afternoon at Cobb Track and Angell Field.

A heave of the shot put by Razorback Jordan West during the SEC Championships this past weekend traveled a distance of 66 feet, 7 inches (20.29) to break the Arkansas school record set in 1983 by Scott Lofquist by half an inch.

As Arkansas hosts the annual Tyson Invitational this Friday and Saturday in the Randal Tyson Track Center, Razorback distance runners will also be competing in Chicago and Seattle.

Impressive performances over the weekend, which included a pair of school records, elevated the Razorbacks to No. 5 in the USTFCCCA national rating index, marking the highest position for Arkansas this indoor season, moving up from No. 12 last week.

The University of Arkansas men's 1,600-meter relay team broke a 37-year-old school record Saturday at the Tyson Invitational.
