Joliet's Inspector General fired back at Will County State’s Attorney's attempt to intervene his lawsuit case by claiming the top prosecutor is trying to shield himself from questioning over an investigation into an alleged conspiracy against the outgoing Joliet mayor.

Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow does not "intend to comply with any request to be interviewed by the [Joliet] Inspector General, which is based on a clearly unconstitutional ordinance," according to a petition filed Monday.

Gretchen Fritz, the failed Republican candidate for Will County clerk, filed a lawsuit alleging election fraud and asks a judge to order a new election.
