Officials said flames spread quickly Thursday at a brush fire in Saunders County because of the high winds.

Council Bluffs Fire Department said the wind has caused some of the small fires from the weekend that were still smoldering to ignite again.

After a long stretch of spring-like weather, winter cold returns with a chance for light snow in the Omaha area Tuesday evening.

It took until the 16th day of the month, but the Omaha Metro saw the first accumulating snow for February on Friday morning.

Light snow will arrive Thursday night into Friday morning, with the timing more impactful than the expected snow amounts.

While February has felt more like spring than winter so far, winter weather will be making a reappearance by the end of the week.
