The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the constitutional validity of 10 per cent quota for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in government jobs and educational institutes.

The Centre, through the 103rd Constitutional Amendment Act, 2019, introduced the provision for EWS reservation in admissions and public services.

According to the cause list for November 7 uploaded on the apex court website, a five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice of India Uday Umesh Lalit would deliver the verdict in the matter.
