Sexual harassment is endemic to workplaces in the UK today. A 2020 government report noted that 29% of workers had experienced some form of sexual harassment in their workplace or work-related environment in the last 12 months. Of those, 57% had experienced unwanted, overtly sexual touching. This report concurred with earlier TUC surveys, which showed that those facing other forms of discrimination are more likely to face sexual harassment. The TUC found that 52% of women, 68% of LGBT+ people, 47% of those with disabilities and 57% of younger workers had been sexually harassed at work.
