Russian ambassador. and it turns out he recused himself because of that. >> no, no, no. i think this is actually really important. the fbi email you are referring to is what he need to put on fs 86. security form that cnn then wrote that he needed to have all of those meetings on. that was incorrect. because he was following the advice from the fbi. his recusal, however, was based on the fact that he was a senior advisor to the trump campaign and that is specific in the department of justifiable...

Potentially. is that right? >> thats absolutely right. what we know from the public record is that mike flynn has a disclosure problem. theres a pattern of him failing to disclose foreign contacts and business entanglements, particularly on his security form. that can be a serious crime. its not often prosecuted but in the context of other information, it can be a serious crime and unrelated to collusion with russia. just in the case of paul manafort who has been indicted on money lan dundering ...

Was that there was a request from him to meet with then candidate donald trump and jared kushner not divulging that when he was asked what contacts were made with russians. >> so when you look at all this, either you have to believe that numerous trump officials, jared kushner, jeff sessions and others, all happened to have selective memory loss when it comes to anything related to russia, or something bad hat happened last year. and with jared kushner, this is not the first time that he failed ...

Whether it was on board air force one where they were trying to figure out how to -- you know, how to talk about that meeting in trump tower, don juniors meeting in trump tower or jared was at westminster when he decided he wanted to fire comey, i think it makes a lot of sense, as my colleagues have reported, that the special counsel would be interested in jared to find out exactly what his role was, if he had any role at all or if he was a bystander. >> he apparently did not update the security...

It could also be something as simple as failure to, you know, fill out a security form properly or lying to investigators. we will have to wait and see what these charges are and who it is against on monday. arthel: absolutely. at this point, it is just speculation. we will do it here for the sake of this segment. who might be targeted, melanie, in this first indictment and depending on who, might they flip and where might the dominoes fall? >> right. i know two of the cases that are considered ...

Agent. so there is that second part. where this crosses into the line of criminality is a big question. that being said to the other part of the story, the facebook part, is there potentially a connection between some of these visible public figures pushing these stories, and then were seeing sort of potentially facebook and social media kind of reinforcing this narrative. >> it is interesting to see his role with the whole pizza gate, and even in this case. #nothingburger is i think what he was...

Convict him on a number of felonies. >> why do you say that? >> theyve got him lying on the security form. it is not a simple process. it is very clear on that form that if you do not tell the truth you are committing a serious felony. after you fill out the form an fbi agent visits you at your office, spends four or five hours with you going through every question thats asked and asks you the same question multiple times in multiple ways. the ideas that flynn made some kind of mistake and left ...
