A new pilot project, which harnesses the power of magnets, is said to drastically improve breast cancer surgery in the province.

Called The Sentimag Project, contrary to current breast cancer surgery techniques which use hook wires, a magnetic seed called Magseed can be inserted at the tumour site.

The pilot project is being funded by the Calgary Health Foundation and the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
