The gymnasium at Maria Weston Chapman Middle School will be dedicated in honor of fallen Weymouth police Sgt. Michael Chesna in a ceremony on Monday afternoon.

Lopes was facing two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Weymouth Police Officer Michael Chesna and 77-year-old Vera Adams and will be retried in court at a later date.

Judge Beverly J. Cannone reportedly said if not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility, Emanuel Lopes would spend the rest of his life in a mental health facility.
