More than 2,000 researchers have signed an open letter requesting the repatriation of a dinosaur fossil to Brazil. Some say the case highlights a pattern of scientific colonialism in paleontology.

Computed tomography data reveal large and adult-looking inner ears in very young individuals of the long-necked dinosaur Europasaurus holgeri suggesting precociality in this dwarfed island dweller from the Late Jurassic of Germany.

Pterosaurs were highly successful reptiles that lived between 210 and 65 million years ago.
