The strong storms Wednesday produced a brief “spin-up tornado” near Mechanicsville in St. Mary’s County, Maryland.

"Flooding is our No. 1 hazard," Nick Crossley said. "We think about it all the time and were always trying to grant money and other things to try to fix it."
