With the sun beginning to set over Sharp Stadium on May 23, graduates of Eastside High School celebrated the sunrise of their future.On Thursday, 367 graduates heard their names called to receive their high school diplomas.

On the night of Friday, May 24, Alcovy seniors walked onto the stage as students, and left as graduates of the class of 2024. Alcovy celebrated its graduation ceremony on the grounds of Sharp Stadium as the sun went down over Covington.

Only two regions involving northeast Georgia area teams have yet to crown champions. And a pair of area teams can win both with wins on the final week of the regular season.

The final week of the high school football season has region titles and playoff seedings on the line.

Fans attending high school athletic events at Sharp Stadium should be aware of new attendance policies this season.

COVINGTON — Determination and resilience are the qualities that mark the Alcovy High School Class of 2021, according to Alcovy High Principal Dr. Kristopher Williams.

Fireworks, pyrotechnics and lights shows could be seen virtually any downtown from Sharp Stadium each night from Wednesday May 24 through Friday May 26.
