In the wake of wildfire smoke blanketing cities across North America, people are asking how dangerous this is to our health.

With Cochrane 7 fire continuing to expand in size, the MNRF has now committed a helicopter to assist in bringing that fire under control.

Officials say the fire was about four or five kilometres east of the town on Friday afternoon.

Five days after a fire broke out in the Greater Madawaska region surrounding Centennial Lake, authorities say it has been declared under control. An evacuation order for residents of the area surrounding the lake has now been lifted, but an open fire ban remains in place.
