Sheldon Avery Thomas pleaded guilty five months after being indicted and accused of buying a Century Arms Draco pistol from dealer Action Impact.

Sheldon Avery Thomas entered his guilty plea Monday and is scheduled to be sentenced March 29. Police say the gun was bought for, and then given to 19-year-old Ehmani Davis, fired at the responding officers and fatally struck Courts in July.

On July 6, Courts and his partner responded to a call of shots being fired and were ambushed, Detroit Police Chief James White said.
