KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 13): Shell plc said on Tuesday (Dec 13) it will sell its stake in two offshore production sharing contracts in Malaysia's Baram Delta for US$475 million (RM2.11 billion) to Petroleum Sarawak Exploration & Production Sdn Bhd. The announcement comes after Shell announced in March 2021 that it was considering selling its stake in the two production sharing contracts, as part of its strategy to focus and increase resilience and competitiveness in its upstream business.

The transaction will be effective Jan 1 and is targeted for completion in early-2023.

Shell has agreed to sell stakes in Malaysia's Baram Delta for $475m, with extra payments of up to $50m to Petroleum Sarawak.
