The committee and we are changing the names and circulating that out. Going forward whether a site provides i mean puts up that signage something you will report on . We do report on it and check on it but because its not part of the standards of care its not a complaint driven process so what we did with the information this year is see how some sites where it was posted and get the information and when we send it out and if we dont see it on a site visit we hand it to the provider and so there is that signage and sites like larkin has signage i would say 60 have signage up in english and spanish. I would appreciate maybe you could share with me the information you have in terms of who has the signage and who doesnt . That would be great. I appreciate it. Sure. Thank you supervisor. Supervisor tang. Thank you and thank you supervisor campos for your questions. I wanted to build upon something he asked about and Language Services and access and i know for the shelters you have things w
Even though we continue to work on development of expansion of the shelter system with lgbt focus set of shelter beds we wanted the entire system to be as welcoming for that community and every one of our communities and our shelters providers take that very seriously and try to do conflict resolution if this are people who are in conflict. We try to remind clients were not trying to change their personal opinions but in this setting everyone is welcome, and then in terms of the overall process i want to end by general comments by the fact that i think the three components of department of Public Health which provides the oversight of the Shelter Monitoring Committee and roving Health Services within the system. Our shelters Resource Centers and sites are providers and i think we are continuing to progress in terms of making these systems that have been put in place with legislation even more functional to better our systems across the board. Supervisor campos. Thank you mr. Chairman a
Theyre turned around. Now the Shelter Monitoring Committee may go and a site might not have tokens when asked and maybe an issue theyre out and didnt report to us. We maybe out later in the month but that doesnt happen a lot. Usage is balanced to our availability because people know what its going to be now its 1200 a month for so many years so its a really difficult question to ask. I think we would have to look at some sort of assessment means that would tell us what people want and there are people im not saying this is a major part of the problem. But its hard to ask people what they want. They will take tokens because it has a monetary value and might use it for other means if they get a hold of them. The people that are getting a hold of them now are they abusing that . I dont think they are. Were focused on the reservation site and give them out when they have a challenge and give one to come back the next morning. Obviously a transfer is not good for a 12 hour period, and we do
The creative director on the stickers. Thank you, to all coming out. And im very happy to support this. Thank you, supervisor farrell. Again, i just wanted to thank everybody, as everyone has already said. While our office was really happy to carry this through to implementation and bring it to the full board this legislation really came through the input of residents and advocates. You had worked on this issue for years before i had even come into the office and im happy to bring this forward to the full board. I think they are some really good fixes within our Public Health code that will provide us more information and the data that we need to effectively utilize the resources that we do have to combat bed bug infestation in the city. Not just by complaints, but by pest control operator abatement will help us understand the scope of this throughout the city of San Francisco. I did have a number of amendments, which i had articulated prior to Public Comment and i was hope we could ta
In addition to the whole board vacating at once, there are a number of additional concerns that we have. How do we the city, maintain a committee of able and committed members . As it stands the committee is all volunteer. The workload as of now are far too labor intensive to be sustained by a volunteer board. So as you just suggested perhaps staggering terms would be an excellent idea. But this is just one issue. The officers have collectively identified a number of issues and largescale questions, but i believe were at a point that some changes need to be made. First the committee need goes through some major changes such as do the standards of care continue to make sense at this time . They did at one time. But it might not make sense anymore and how can we as a Committee Without teeth enforce standards of care . How can we expect shelters to meet standards of care when they are unfunded . And what is a just penalty for noncompliance . Certainly it doesnt make sense to fine somebody
