Visiting the 1,500 active volcanoes around the world, how could they really understand the likelihood of disaster? i wanted to find out more about what it means to visit these mythical phenomena and also what they mean to the people living in their shadow. so im going to etna, but im not the first bbcjournalist to visit the volcano. just three years ago, a group of tourists, along with bbc science correspondent rebecca morrell, were suddenly hit by an eruption on the side of the volcano.
