The Region of Peel has launched a study to consider whether Highway 50 should have bike lanes. The study will focus on Queen Street, specifically the section from Queensgate Blvd to Columbia Way in Bolton. The objective is to design a complete street that supports all modes of transportation safely and maintains Peel infrastructure.

The extension, which has been debated since 2018, involves a proposed 6.78 miles of new road that will cost an approximately $182 million.
