YMO Since the 1 February 2021 coup, thousands of protestors including LGBTQ+ people in different cities across Myanmar have been calling for the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and a return to civilian democracy. Myanmar’s military have responded by arresting more than 17,710 people according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP).

Sources say plainclothes officers beat the protesters before detaining them.
