Maddox Construction crews began building Heber City’s new bandshell at Main Street Park weeks ago, but it just got its official groundbreaking April 25, when city leaders and community members gathered around the quickly developing foundation on the north end of the park bordering 200 South to hear about the new community venue and what it means as a kickstart to downtown infrastructural development projects.

The 355-unit Fitzgerald Annexation within the Jordanelle Ridge subdivision planned for recently annexed northern parts of Heber City caught lots of criticism but ultimately City Council approval, however grumpily.

Heber City councilors decided Tuesday to support Wasatch Countys endeavor for conservation easements in Heber Valleys North Fields even as the Utah Department of Transportation considers the land in potential bypass routes.

Heber City Planning Commission nominations took a turn earlier this week when Mayor Heidi Franco attempted to nominate Del Barney, the husband of Councilor Yvonne Barney, and the City Council rebuffed her.

Ostergaard hopes Heber City citizens will be open with their officials about their thoughts and opinions on what the city could become.
