KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Despite making ambitious plans for expanding the tunnels in the country, the government is facing obstacles in implementation of the plans. Although the government has planned the construction of two dozen tunnels, only one such project is currently underway.

KATHMANDU, Oct 2: Following the end of the rainy season, the construction work on the eagerly anticipated Butwal-Palpa tunnel is slated to begin. This tunnel, spanning 1.126 kilometers, is a response to frequent landslides in the area, and it will connect the Chidiya Khola to the confluence on the north side of Siddhababa temple within the Butwal-Tansen section.

The project is eyeing both domestic and Indian tourists.

The police and Tehsildar reached the spot and are currently preparing a panchnama to remove the tomb near the Siddha Baba temple.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday inaugurated the newly formed districts Sakti and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur districts.
