An attorney representing a former FCI Dublin correctional officer charged with sex crimes told a jury that John Bellhouse did not have illegal relations with incarcerated women, whom she described as convicted felons looking for a quick payout and help with their deportation problems.

A judge has ruled that the defense attorneys representing an FCI Dublin prison guard headed to trial Tuesday on sex crime charges may not delve with too much detail into the past criminal histories of the women testifying against him. 

Nearly three dozen women at FCI Dublin have either been deported or are facing possible deportation, even though their attorneys say that as sexual assault survivors or witnesses they are eligible for U-visas.
