In the aftermath of Wexford County Council’s (WCC) decision to dismiss all three motions objecting to the proposed development of an International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) centre in Rosslare Harbour, councillors from across the county discussed an issue which has, in the eyes of some, become a “political football” in recent weeks.

Music from the Wexford Opera Festival Masses of 2019, the St Oliver Plunkett Mass, and the St Michael Mass from 2022, feature on a new CD which will be launched by the Rowe Street Church Choir on Friday, December 8. Taking place in the Loch Garman Band Hall, St Patrick’s Square on High Street at 7 p.m., the launch will feature guest speaker and local historian Monica Crofton.

The Campile man received special thanks and best wishes on his retirement after 44 years of service to both the An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil (FCÁ) (Local Defence Force) and the Army Reserve.

A much-anticipated emergency meeting of Wexford County Council (WCC) has proved anti-climactic after all three motions presented to the council were struck out due to legal reasons. The meeting had been called to discuss the ongoing development of a proposed International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) centre in Rosslare Harbour, a development which is currently the subject of a planning appeal by WCC.
