The built environment sector is beginning to reconcile its impact on the planet. With the Australian government pledging to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, climate change playing havoc with business-as-usual and sustainability getting top billing in boardroom conversations, actions to mitigate carbon emissions, restore biodiversity and make society more equitable are no longer just a value add.

“With a global knowledge base and local expertise, I am looking forward to working with the team at HDR to build strong communities and grow our sustainability footprint for our business, our clients, our staff and our planet. For me, sustainability is a holistic practice and consideration of upstream and downstream environmental, social and economic impacts is critical to the success of any entity – we must be the change we wish to see,” says Dormer.
