The Roots' artist residency at The Kennedy Center is the subject of an upcoming PBS special slated to air on Friday at 9 p.m. 'The Roots Residency' is the third episode of PBS' 'NEXT at the Kennedy Center,' but previous episodes centered around Charles Mingus and Joni Mitchell.

PBS announced that the third episode of Next at the Kennedy Center, will feature the Grammy Award-winning hip hop group The Roots.
