JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Apr 4: With a view to curb fast spread of COVID-19, the Government today capped gatherings at all kind of social and customary functions at 200 and ordered closure of all schools up to Class 9th till April 18 and Classes 10th to 12th till April 11 as the Union Territory recorded 573 new positive cases including 451 in Kashmir and 122 in Jammu and three deaths.

JAMMU, Mar 16: The UT Government tonight approved major shake-up in the civil administration by ordering transfer and postings of 34 IAS and KAS officers including several Administrative Secretaries and Deputy Commissioners.
Bipul Pathak, Principal Secretary to the Government, Science & Technology Department, holding additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Social Welfare Department has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Government, Youth Services and Sports Department, shall hold the charge of Principal Secretary to the Government, Science and Technology Department and Chief Executive Officer, Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), in addition to his own duties, till further orders.

JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today called for exploring more possibilities for strengthening skill-development ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Lt Governor was chairing a meeting on skill development here at Raj Bhavan.
Emphasizing on employment-oriented skill development, the Lt Governor observed that developing emerging Skill Sets among the people, especially the youth and women folks will fill the Skill Gap as per the job-market demand and create better livelihood opportunities.
