Metal by the lake: Springfest offers hard rock and R&B lineup and family fun in the park

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Spring Festival just keeps getting bigger and bigger. “A representative from the county called us (after last year’s Springfest) and said, ‘Hey, just so you guys know, your fest is no joke.’” said Spring Festival Committee Member Lori Valdez. “They counted 57,000 attendees from Thursday to Sunday at our festival.”

Ag appreciation: Annual parade lights up snow-covered Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE – There was snow on the ground, but spirits were high at the annual Ag Appreciation Parade and Street Party in downtown Moses Lake Friday. The party started at 5 p.m., with the parade at 7 p.m. The weather was chilly, at about 24 degrees, but downright balmy compared to the 2022 parade’s temperatures in the teens.

Annual tree lighting set for Friday evening

MOSES LAKE — The Downtown Moses Lake Association will host the annual tree lighting downtown in Sinkiuse Square, located at 306 S. Tradition, culture highlighted at UMANI Festival

MOSES LAKE — Radel Llamas said the game was part of his childhood, but he hadn’t played it in a while. Llamas wound the string around the brightly colored top, and explained the goal was to make the top, called a trompo, do what he wanted it to. “You want to get it dancing,” he said. That part was relatively easy. He snapped the string and the top spun across the bricks in Sinkiuse Square. “El puente, that’s what they call it,” he said. “That was our internet back in the day.”
