Slum Policy In Maharashtra: In a judgement passed on Tuesday, a division bench of Justices Girish Kulkarni and Jitendra Jain said the states policy has resulted in large pockets of land being siphoned out from the "state pool".

As per notification dated October 26, 2017, the land has been declared as slum rehabilitation area under the provisions of Section 3C(1) of the Maharashtra Slum Area (Improvement, Clearance and Development) Act, 1971.
