Jackson High junior Snehal Choudry has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship and advances to the second of two regional competitions of the Believe in Ohio STEM Entrepreneurship Awards during the Ohio Academy of Science State Science Day.
Snehal’s entry, “Creating an Alcohol-Free, Essential Oil-Based Sanitizer for Better Hand Hygiene,” was recognized for its potential to be commercialized as a product or service. Snehal’s idea, based on her scientific research, advances to Believe in Ohio Mileposts to develop it into a STEM commercialization plan.
The next regional competition will be held in May.
The $1,000 scholarship is to an Ohio college or university. In addition to that scholarship, Snehal has the opportunity to compete for one of several $10,000 scholarships at the Believe in Ohio State Competition in June.
