Sofya Lantratova, a senior from George Stevens Academy, is the state champion and will compete in the National Poetry Out Loud Semifinals.

“It’s such a gorgeous piece of writing,” she said. “I was going through a hard period then, and that allowed me to find new meaning between the lines.”
