Tyrone Gray, 24, will be held without bond pending trial in the fatal June 13 shooting death of Dontarious Sylvester, 25, at the Tuttle mall.

A witness to the shooting who was in court on Tuesday for an arraignment for the suspect said the June 13 shooting was life-changing.

Tyrone Gray Jr. is charged with the shooting death of Dontarious Sylvester inside Sole Stop Sunday afternoon.

Tyrone Gray, 24, turned himself in at the Franklin County jail early Friday morning after discovering U.S. Marshals were searching for him.

Reginald Moffatt, the stepfather and only living father-figure to Dontarious Sylvester said his son was just stopping in Columbus to buy a pair of shoes.

"He just threw a purse at me, hit me in my face," Tyrone Gray Jr. allegedly told a 911 dispatcher about Dontarious Sylvester, who was fatally shot.

The shooting happened inside the mall at Sole Stop.

It happened inside a shoe store at Tuttle Mall.
