Burlington, IA- Authorities had to briefly close Roosevelt Avenue and divert traffic due to a two-vehicle crash on Thursday. The Burlington beacon reports that 67-year-old Song Yuk Richardson of Sperry was traveling south on US 61 and was waiting in the left turn lane on Roosevelt avenue to turn onto East Division Street. Richardson had the yellow blinking light when she was hit by a semi-truck, driven by 59-year-old Terry Mulvaney of Lasalle, Illinois. Mulvaney said that he had the green light, and saw Richardson turning, but had not time to brake. No one was injured in the accident, and Richardson was issued a citation for failure to yield.
