A man is 'fighting for his life in hospital' after men fighting in the street ended in a 'serious' stabbing in Greenwich yesterday. Police have now released an appeal calling for witnesses to come forward after the "shocking incident that occurred in broad daylight outside people's homes." Officers called to reports of men fighting in the street in Barge Walk on the Greenwich Peninsula at 4:23pm on Wednesday afternoon, June 2, found a man aged in his mid-30s suffering from stab injuries.

Video of the incident shows one man, stripped to the waist and barefoot, holding a machete in one hand and a hammer in the other, while lunging at the other men. A second man, in grey jogging bottoms and a navy T-shirt, is seen holding a carving knife. Residents who lived close to where the incident took place, in Barge Walk in north Greenwich, are heard calling for the violence to stop, with one woman shouting: “It’s not worth it, stop it.”

Met police officers face £200 fines for getting hair cuts

A group of 31 London police officers are facing £200 Covid-19 fines for getting their hair cut by a barber while on duty at a police station. The Metropolitan Police said that the officers all had trims from a professional hairdresser at Bethnal Green police station on January 17. They are all facing £200 fines and the two officers that organised the event are under investigation for potential misconduct.
